This is me when I was four years old, sporting the oh so fashionable polka dot attire and posing for my Dad who took the picture while vacationing in San Francisco, California. Even though I was very young, that was my first incident experiencing the travel bug. Not many people get bit by the bug, but as for me…well I was bit hard.
Twenty years later I have developed a passion for adventure, travel and gained a nomadic spirit. I have taken small trips across the United States. I’ve also been oversees with a group a couple of times to visit and complete volunteer work in Russia. However I am taking my love for traveling to another level and going on my very first backpacking trip as a solo female pilgrim during the Summer of 2014.
I leave for my journey in June 25th…Yes that’s in one month…
I am starting my trip in Siberia,Russia teaching English, sightseeing and diving into the Russian language and culture. Next my trip is going to take me to Italy. A friend is meeting me in Rome and she & I will be backpacking up the boot for two weeks. Next pit stop will be the South of France, then ending my travels in the United Kingdom.
Like I said, when you get bit by the travel bug, the effects are pretty powerful.
